That’s the real engine dealing — the same code that runs your night.

The problem we started with

“Same four again?”

Queue apps rotate the front of the line, so the same block keeps landing on a court together — just with partners swapped. FourUp scores every possible four against the night so far and picks the freshest one that’s still fair on sit-outs. Same ten names, one court, eight games:

Play with it

One night, every screen — right here.

The organizer’s screen and a player’s phone, running the actual app on a sample night. Start a game on the laptop; the phone updates the way it would across the venue.

How a night runs

Three taps from group chat to first serve.

One QR on the fence. Phones light up with the next four; the organizer's screen stays the single source of truth. Read the walkthrough →

  1. 1

    Paste the list

Copy the sign-up thread from your Viber or Messenger group. Names are enough — levels are optional. Or post one invite link and let people add themselves.

  2. 2

    Tap Start

Each court gets its next four with a one-line reason — “Merry & Pippin have never partnered.” Don’t like it? Swap a player, lock a pairing, shuffle. It’s your night.

  3. 3

    Everyone knows what’s next

One QR. Players see their court, who they’re with, and how many are ahead of them. Check in, step away, report the winner — from their own phone.

What you get

Built for the person holding the whiteboard.

Genuinely mixed fours

Every possible four is scored against who’s already played with whom. New partners, new opponents — never the same four straight back on a court.

Fair sit-outs

Fewest games play first. Just came off? You sit before someone who’s been waiting. The bench shows exactly why.

Live view on every phone

Scan once. Your court, your partner, your place in line — plus self check-in, “I’m away”, and one-tap results.

Invite link & RSVPs

Schedule a night, post one link, people add themselves. When you start play, the same link becomes the live view.

FourUp Level

A calm level band earned from results — not a number to worry about. Organizers see it; the math stays out of the way.

The recap

Tonight’s program, printed after the fact: awards, podium, one shareable card for the group chat.

Tournament night

Same names, same phones. Now with a champion.

Pick a format when you start the night. FourUp deals the rounds, banks every player’s points, and puts the live leaderboard on every phone. Scores go in from the court — either team, their own phone — the recap crowns the winner, and the results still count toward everyone’s FourUp Level.

  • AmericanoPartners rotate on a fixed schedule — with 8 or 12 players you partner everyone exactly once. Your points add up; top score wins the night.
  • MexicanoEach round is paired from the board — 1st + 4th vs 2nd + 3rd — so the games get closer as the night goes on.
  • King of the CourtShort races. Winners hold the court, the next two in the queue challenge them, and after three in a row the kings rotate out.
Formats, rules & the round board
No signal? No problem.

Runs the whole night offline.

Your night lives on your device — the mixing engine, results, ratings and the recap all run right there. Install FourUp once with signal and it opens at any court, no data needed: paste the names, start, run every game, finish with the recap. When you're back online it syncs on its own — history saved, players' phones catch up.

  • Start and run a night with zero connectivity.
  • Nothing is lost if the signal drops mid-session — it keeps going and uploads later.
  • Players’ phones need signal to follow along; with none, they look at your screen — same as today.

Install from your browser menu (“Install app” / “Add to Home Screen”) — once, with signal.
